SECRET AGENT MAN: YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK.
The National Security Agency (NSA) is the United States government’s cryptologic organization, intercepting foreign communications for protecting U.S. government systems from similar agencies abroad. This special spy agency’s activities include surveillance, codebreaking, cybersecurity, foreign language analysis and research.
The NSA is a key component of the U.S. intelligence community headed by the Director of National Intelligence. NSA provides political and military leaders with intelligence for national defense and advance U.S. interests. It has been described as the world’s largest employer of mathematicians and the owner of the largest group of supercomputers.
The National Security Agency has shot down a Freedom of Information Act request for details about an elusive presidential order that may allow the government to deploy the military within the United States for the supposed sake of cyber security. Presidential Policy Directive 20 is classified, and exact wording of the elusive document has been kept a secret by those with first-hand knowledge of memo.
The November 14 article of the Post, spoke with sources that saw documents reporting that the directive “effectively enables the military to act more aggressively to thwart cyberattacks on the nation’s web of government and private computer networks.”
Meanwhile, the secret order — Presidential Policy Directive 20 — might remain classified unless EPIC can win in court. “We believe that the public hasn’t been able to involve themselves because they don’t have the right amount of information,” Releasing information on the directive cannot occur because “disclosure could reasonably be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security.” said the NSA responding to the FOIA request. “Because the document is currently and properly classified, it is exempt from disclosure,” writes the NSA. ___________________________________________________________
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesperson confirmed a bombing which was triggered remotely in the most recent terrorist attack. Another explosive that did not detonate was reportedly found on the bombed bus. Police are searching for two people involved in an attack, contradicting previous reports of a single suspect, said Israeli radio.
Twenty-eight people have been injured in a bus bombing in central Tel Aviv Police say the blast was a terrorist attack. IDF Spokesperson Leibovitz confirmed on twitter that the bomb went off near the Israel Defence Ministry’s offices.
Authorities raised security in the area to a level-4 alert as police closed off the nearby Azrieli Center compound. Police have been checking all bags in the area, but children are now allowed to go home after initially being ordered to stay inside their schools. Israeli authorities have raised security in the area to a level 4 alert and have begun a manhunt for the two suspects.
Israeli forces have launched numerous missile attacks on Gaza, killing at least 6 after a bomb struck a bus in Tel Aviv, injuring 16. It is the eighth day of Israel’s ‘Pillar of Defense’ campaign, which has killed over 130 Palestinians so far. Israeli war jets pummeled Gaza’s Al-Yarmouk football stadium with more than 10 consecutive attacks, Al Jazeera reports. Several casualties were reported following the assault.
The IDF claimed they are striking key Hamas targets, while the Palestinian Authority criticized the attacks for killing civilians. Israel’s government called an emergency meeting in response to the first terrorist bombing in the city since 2006. ____________________________________________________________

The world-famous peace symbol, which turned 50 on April 4, 2008, was the brainchild of a British designer seeking a simple but powerful emblem for an anti-nuclear-weapons march in London in 1958. The symbol, which superimposes the semaphore signals for N (nuclear) and D (disarmament), caught on worldwide and quickly became a universal touchstone for the causes of peace and nonviolence.
A new National Geographic book, Peace: The Biography of a Symbol by photographer Ken Kolsbun and journalist Michael S. Sweeney, takes a look at the famous pictogram. Here, a skywritten peace sign drifts above peace activist and folk singer Arlo Guthrie during a 1969 show at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. ______________________________________________
